People before me have used the terms Run, Hide, and Fight.  I prefer the terms Run, Hide and Ambush.  It is the ambush part of that strategy that I will discuss. 

When you ambush someone, it typically means the person never sees it coming and are totally surprised when it happens.  Whether you ambush the shooter from a hidden or concealed location, or sneak up on them, however you make it happen, your success is dependent on your ability to be outside of the shooter’s view when you ambush them.
