One of my pet peeves are the highly publicized Martial Arts schools that offer frequent promotion without true competency.  And too many times, the public is fooled by the Flavor of the Month; a school or style of Martial Arts that is in the spotlight (at least for the time being). I feel for these students who don’t know what they are missing (or perhaps they do).  It’s not that they need to study from me, but they need to know what to do if they were going to be involved in a real-life situation where they would be faced with a viable opponent.  An opponent who is not easily intimidated and wants to do them harm.

Not very often, but I have had it happen when a person walks in off the street, or even in a presentation where a person (from the hood and without any Martial Arts training) challenges the effectiveness of a particular technique.  I am quite sure these so-called Martial Arts schools have never had to face that type of challenge.  I am also sure that they truly knew what they were teaching was fake Martial Arts techniques and their Mc Dojo school. But if they actually came to that realization, then they would abandon their self-righteous egotistical attitudes and either get the training they need or stop teaching all together.
