This technique is for when an assailant is holding a knife at the torso of the defender. For the ease of explanation, the assailant is standing within critical distance, holding the knife with their right hand, and pointing the tip of the knife directly at the torso of the defender.
The defender will use their left hand to reach out and grab back side of the assailant’s right hand and wrist. At the moment of that contact, the defender will move the assailant’s right wrist approximately two inches towards that three o’clock position. This movement will place a slight bend in the assailant’s right wrist that is holding the knife.
The defender will move the knife to the three o’clock position, past their body to ensure the assailant does not attempt to stab or cut them during the disarm. As the knife reaches the three o’clock position, the defender will place their right hand at the hilt of the knife and force the knife through the thumb and fingers. This movement should totally disarm the assailant of their knife. The continuous motion of the disarm should cause the knife to be plunged into the assailant’s torso.
