In several places across the United States, violent male offenders have had their way at terrorizing the population. In New York City, one or more offenders (perhaps randomly or not) approach females who are alone and punching them in the face or head, then running away. Some news reports state that the females are not aware of their surroundings and are paying attention to their cell phones.
And in Rockford, IL one male suspect went on a stabbing spree where he attacked and viciously stabbed and killed 4 people.
When you are out in public, stay off your cell phone or tablet. Whether you keep it inside a pocket or in your hand, if your cell phone is visible, you send a signal to any assailant that you are not paying attention and won’t be able to see them approach you, whether from the front or from behind you.
As for the lone suspect who went on a stabbing spree, ensure to watch the hands of people who approach you.
If they have objects in their hands that appear to be a weapon (knife, hatchet, machete, or a gun) make sure you know what to do to counter that assailant.
Your head must be on swivel whenever you are in any of these situations. And have a plan of what you would do if you were ever approached by these types of offenders.
