From the early spring of each year to the late fall, some tournament promoter in either Nevada or Southern California will be hosting a Martial Arts tournament almost nearly every weekend.

Please seek your Instructor’s guidance as to whether you should or should not compete in those tournaments.

If you have never competed in these a Karate tournament, my best advice is to first go and watch a tournament.  You will want to watch the kata and fighting divisions you would be competing in.  This will give you a pretty good indication of what you may have to face once you are ready to compete.

Not all tournaments will have the same judges, same rules, same competitors, etc.  Again, just watch and see what there is to see first before you enter your first tournament.  If you are not a new comer to the tournament scene, that will be another topic for another time.  One thing to remember: it is the goal to win both the match and the fight.   If you can only win one of them – always win the fight!
